Researcher and stalwart of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region Albert Forkuo Boakye has said that analytically, the NPP lost 2020 elections in the Ashanti region which is their stronghold.
According to him, during the 2020 election, the votes add up in the Ashanti region from 2016 was 300,000.
However, the NDC garnered 155,720 whiles the NPP which has the Ashanti region as its strong hold garnering 146,844.
With this analysis in mind he noted that the NPP lost the elections because John Dramani Mahama made serious inroads with the number of votes he added to his 2016 votes.
On the national level, Albert Forkuo Boakye indicated that “when you look at the National level elections the vote that added up from 2016 was around 2.5 million votes. Out of these 2.5 million votes, NDC won 1.5 million votes that means the election the NPP lost, that’s how I do my analysis.
