Political Scientist Professor Ransford Gyampo has wondered why Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has not been made a minister by President Nana Akufo-Addo, describing his apparent ‘snubbing’ by the President as a “dissipation of brains personified”.
Dr Okoe Boye who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku Constituency and later Deputy Minister of Health has been left out of the ministerial list in President Akufo-Addo’s second term.
Speculations are that he has been left out for failing to retain his Parliamentary seat. But Prof Gyampo wonders why this, if it is true, should be the case given that some Ministers are not MPs.
“Why is Oko Boye not a Minister? Should be a condition for appointing all? Is the finance Minister an MP? Is constituency popularity coterminous with competence? DISSIPATION OF BRAINS PERSONIFIED!” He wrote.
Dr Okoe Boye, notwithstanding has remained a vocal supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), regularly representing the party in the media.
