The Presidency has warned public officials over the misuse of sirens including Ministers, Deputies, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives(MMDCES) against the wanton abuse of sirens
In a letter sighted by MyNewsGh.com the Presidency has reminded public officials that the directive is still in full force and these persons including heads of various government agencies are bound to adhere strictly by it.
Apart from vehicles placed in the category where sirens can be fitted as a warning appliance, other cars which are fitted with sirens will face prosecution if found abusing its use.
There have been complaints of some government officials and even citizens who have been seen on the country’s roads abusing the use of sirens.
These individuals use sirens to dodge traffic and also drive at top speed causing confusion on the various roads in the counrtry.
