“For every year, 2,000 additional policemen and women will be recruited.

“Our manifesto says out of the number of police officers who will be recruited, 40% of them will be women.”

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo made this known while engaging a section of the community in Denu within the Ketu South constituency, where Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s running mate toured as part of her three-day visit to the Volta Region.

He, later, cautioned police service not to allow themselves to be manipulated by the government. Mr. Ampofo also advised police personnel to see civilians as their friends and not allow any political authority to use them to intimidate and harass people on the day of the election.
