My Octopus Teacher is a documentary focused on a friendship forged between a South African filmmaker and a creature in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Man Who Sold His Skin, meanwhile, is a satire starring Monica Belluci which is up for best foreign language film.
“It’s a historic nomination for Tunisia,” director Kaouther Ben Hania told Variety magazine.
