Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumase, Mr Bawah Braimah Muhammad has asserted that the only person the New Patriotic Party (NPP) feels threatened by is the 2020 Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.
He, therefore said, the party will present John Mahama for the 2024 elections and no other person.
The Ejura Sekyedumase MP expressed hope that the NDC will win the 2024 election with the Former President.
The NDC lost to the NPP in the 2016 and 2020 elections with John Mahama as Flagbearer.
Although the NPP won the 2020 elections, John Mahama and the NDC did not accept the verdict by the Electoral Commission therefore resorting to court.
However, the the Supreme court dismissed the case after the NDC failed to prove with results that no one won the election.
Few days ago, a group claiming to be members of the NDC embarked on a demonstration, demanding that NDC and John Mahama provide the results they claim they had during the 2020 election.
But reacting to that on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, hosted y Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mr Bawah Braimah Muhammad said those who embarked on the demonstration are not members of the NDC.
He was of the belief that some people had payed the demonstrators to create scenes to distract the NDC.
“When your opponent is scared of you, he tries to bring all sort of things. For now, the only person the NPP fears in 2024 is John Mahama and that is why we are presenting him,” he said.
When asked if John Mahama had accepted to go for the race, Mr Bawah Braimah Muhammad said, “I am prophesying that 7th December, 2024 elections, John Dramani Mahama is going to emerge as a winner on the ticket of the NDC. We are entering the race with John Dramani Mahama and no other person.”
He said those demanding the results should resort to the election directorate of the NDC since John Mahama is not responsible for the collation of the election results.
He urged those behind the demonstrators, whom he believes Allotey Jacobs is part to put a stop to it, saying that whether they like or not, Mahama will be presented for the 2024 elections.
