The National Deputy Secretary for the opposition NDC, Lawyer Barbara Serwah Asamoah, has indicated that her party’s victory in the 2020 elections is to end tyranny and injustice under this current administration.

According to the deputy secretary, the deploy of military personnel to some voter’s registration centres forms part of a bigger ploy by the NPP government to harass, intimidate and discourage eligible Ghanaians from registering for the voter’s Identification Card.

Her statement comes on the back of a report in which some military personnel are accused of preventing Ewes in Banda from taking part in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

The former NDC deputy national youth organizer speaking on Offinso based Time FM Morning Show on Wednesday, 5, said the Christian Council of Ghana, the National Peace Council and Civil Society Organizations have been oppressed in voicing out their concerns for fear of victimization.

Barbara Serwah Asamoah said, viral videos from some registration centres depicts clearly that Ghanaians are extremely upset by the NPP ploy agenda to disenfranchise Ewes and were ready to resist the Armed military men.

“…you can use Soldiers to intimidate people but you can’t stop the people’s power… because if they say enough is enough; enough is enough” she told Nana Akwasi Sarpong.

She has indicated that her party’s victory in the 2020 elections will not be ‘negotiable’ thus, calling on Ghanaians to join what the NDC describes as the rescue mission.

Lawyer Barbara Serwah Asamoah linked her argument to what she described as the mismanagement of the country’s economy by the Akufo-Addo government resulting into people losing their jobs and major stalled projects under the erstwhile Mahama’s administration.
