The above elite unions came with the news that they have reached an agreement with the government to retool teachers.
One of the means is to supply laptop computers to teachers to improve upon their classroom delivery. The teacher unions explained further the mode of payment. According to the teacher unions, government will pay seventy percent whilst teachers are to pay thirty percent on instalment basis.
The mode of payment is that teachers will be forced to pay their part through the Controller deductions.
The mind boggling question is,who is supposed to retool TEACHERS?
Is the forceful deduction not against the existing functional labour laws?
What has happened to the earliest deduction of one hundred Ghana cedis the teacher unions in agreement with the National Teaching Council forcefully took from teachers?
Have the Teacher Unions become Salaries Deduction Unions?
