Fans can get their hands on the record-breaking boots Lionel Messi used to notch his 644th Barcelona goal — but it could set them back a cool £70,000 to do so.
Messi’s strike in the 3-0 victory over Real Vallodolid back in December saw him break Pele’s long-standing record of competitive goals scored for one club.
Now the boots he wore to net that goal are being auctioned off for charity and are expected to fetch anything between £50k and £70k by auction house Christie’s.
But Messi, 33, is just pleased to be raising money for a good cause, with all proceeds going to the Arts and Health Project of the Vall Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona.

He said: “Achieving the record of 644 goals for the same club made me very happy, but the most important thing is being able to give something back to all the kids fighting for their health.
“We hope this auction serves to really raise awareness about this great initiative and I would like to thank all for supporting a cause so important to me.”
Each of the adidas Nemeziz Messi 19.1 boots are signed by the Argentine, with Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo’s name and the names of his three sons, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro, along with their dates of birth, etched on the shoes
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game and the record is unlikely to be broken after it took Messi 749 appearances for Barca.
