The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye, has alleged that Former President John Mahama masterminded the death of a Police officer with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in 2015.
Speaking on Nsempa Fie on Wontumi TV on Saturday, August 28, which was monitored by MyNewsGhana.net, Abronye said that Mahama ordered for a CID officer to be poisoned after he refused to drop an investigation of corruption of which he(Mahama) was involved.
Delving into details, a visibly enraged Abronye alleged that Mr Mahama siphoned $15 million that was put in a fund to develop areas in the Western Region where crude oil had been discovered.
According to the NPP regional chairman, the money was put in the fund by the EO group, the company that discovered crude oil in Ghana, however, as soon as Mr Mahama took over power, the money was taken out of the fund without any justification.
He said the CID officer upon seeing this vowed to uncover the corruption that had taken place.
Abronye added that the CID officer mysteriously died a few days after he wrote to former President Mahama inviting him for questioning over the missing cash.
He added that after his death, the investigation also ended as no officer was assigned to it.
“The CID officer reported to work and in the next moment started vomiting, the next thing we head was that he was dead” Abronye said.
The office of the former President is yet to respond to the accusation.
