The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has admonished the government to consider selling the Falcon Presidential jet if the Mr Nana Akufo-Addo has no use for it.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM, on Wednesday, September 1, which was monitored by MyNewsGhana.net, the ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament said that Ghana could get $35 million to $40 million from the sale of the Presidential jet.
According to him, that money could be put better use such as procuring Covid 19 vaccines for the citizens of the country.
He added that the money could also be used to build more infrastructure to improve the Free SHS policy.
His comments come on the back of news that the President chartered a luxurious jet which cost $18,000 per hour for his travel to the UK and Germany.
The plane is fitted with a five-star dining room, cinema rooms and washrooms and master bed room.
According to Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa, Akufo-Addo has neglected the cry of Ghanaians to use the Falcon Presidential jet which was used by his predecessors.
He added that although the Falcon Presidential jet does not have cinema rooms and master bedrooms, that plane is airworthy and also very comfortable to use.
