
Some thugs believed to be loyalists of the “runaway” fetish priest who allegedly instigated the murder of a 10- year -old boy at Kasoa for money rituals, attacked the news team of Atinka Media Village (AMV) at his residence at Amanase, near Suhum in the Eastern Region yesterday.

The news team of Atinka Media Village had gone to the residence of the fetish priest on Thursday morning to report on the raging issue which had dominated the headlines for the past three days.
The thugs numbering about 5 stormed the residence where members of the news team were performing their official duties and demanded the visuals taken by the news team.

The news team refused to budge and this led to a physical confrontation and the thugs managed to overpower the driver of the official vehicle of AMV, took away the car keys and also manhandled a member of the team and tore his clothes in the process.

It took the timely intervention of the Suhum District Police Command to rescue the AMV news team.
A resident (name withheld) who was in the company of the news team was beaten to pulp by the thugs, who accused him of aiding the AMV news team. The gentlemen is currently receiving treatment at the Suhum government hospital.
The AMV management has taken the matter up and with the support of the Ghana Journalists Association, it will be lodging a formal complaint with the police .

Wife of the Fetish Priest was arrested at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region on Wednesday after her husband absconded.
The two teenage suspects Felix Nyarko, 16, and Nicholas Kiki, 18, told the police after their arrest that they killed the 10-year old boy, Ishmael Mensah Abdellah after the spiritualist demanded a human being as well as ¢5000 in exchange for a millionaire status.
Meanwhile the late Ishmael Mensah has been laid to rest at the Ngleshie Amanfro under Muslim tradition.

Family, friends and loved ones of the deceased gathered at the family house to bid farewell to Ishmael Mensah.
Some of the dignitaries present at the funeral grounds were the Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie-Amanfrom, Sylvester Tetteh, the MCE for Ga south, Joseph Nyani and other government officials.
When the body of the deceased was handed over to the family, it performed the Muslim prayer before he was sent to the cemetery.
Per Muslim tradition, the family wished him well in the next life and asked for Allah’s protection for the family Ishmael left behind.

The 10-year-old was murdered by two teenagers, 16 and 18 at Lamptey Mills, a suburb of Kasoa on Saturday, April 3, 2021 between 5 and 6pm.
The suspects were asked to bring along human parts in addition to an amount of GHC5,000 for money rituals.
The two have been arrested and are currently in police custody while investigations is continue .
