Radio and Television personality Afia Pokuaa known popularly as Vim Lady says the Ghanaian youth should not think of bringing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) back to power.
According to Vim Lady, she has seen members of the largest opposition party jubilating over the youth of the country calling for the country to be fixed and think they can score political points out of it.
But that should not be countenanced and be seen as a move to introduce anything new because the NDC when brought back will do worse than what is currently happening in the country.
“President Rawlings as the founder of the opposition NDC was frustrated by some of these young people. He called them babies with sharp teeth. So between me and you, if we want things to change in Ghana, we must be the babies and the leaders of tomorrow and tomorrow begins today. We need a change of mind. After twenty something years of doing this job, I will not come here and be shouting for you. If you are a Ghanaian be bold and police your own vote. I didn’t vote for you, so be bold because even Kwame Nkrumah who fought for independence for Ghana was left to die in exile.” she said.
She continued ” I see members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) jubilating and shouting fix it. Who told you when NDC comes to power they are going to do anything different? NDC? We’ve had NDC from 1992 to date and nothing changed and Akufo-Addo also came and nothing has changed. Even now, a family member of Akufo-Addo himself says they are doing Akyem Sakawa Mafia, they are being greedy and emptying the country’s coffers.”
Afia Pokuaa believes that the best option for the country is to get all supporters of the #fixthecountry demonstration to come together and form a political party that can wrestle power from the NDC and the NPP.
