The International Central Gospel Church branch, the Upper Room Temple (URT) Intensifies online and Social media Church services and meetings. ICGC Upper Room Temple is one of many Christian organizational bodies that has resulted in dedicative online Church services or fellowships due to the ban on social gathering in Ghana by the government to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

The Residence Pastor, Rev. Kwaku Ewusie-Mensah has directed his members to sternly conform to the government’s procedure to curtail the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) which has slain thousands of people around the world

In a televised address on Thursday, April 9, President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo ordered the extension of a Lockdown of Greater Accra and the Ashanti region for additional one week subject to review to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. This “Address to the nation” update was one of six (6) presidential updates on COVID 19 in Ghana for the past few days.

Responding to the extension of the lockdown in a televised broadcast on Thursday, April 9, Rev. Ewusie-Mensah admonished his church members to look out for one another and be a helping hand to the needy in their localities.

Rev. Ewusie-Mensah encouraged Upper Room Temple members to be a hand of Jesus in their communities. Members who have the means are expected to share with the needy (orphan, widow, elderly person, single parents) in their communities. URT members who are also touched and willing but do not have the means to do so or may themselves require help are to contact the URT Easter Lockdown Team for help.

Because he trusts “it is a good chance for us to show the love of Christ to people around us. He also encouraged his members to get involved in their online and social media church activities to pray for one another, Connect, encourage one another, Help one another and share.”

As part of the Church’s digital revolution amid COVID 19, the Couples Ministry of URT headed by Deacon Isaac Omari Koranteng held another powerful couples program online dubbed: Making the Most of the Lockdown; which was hosted by a renowned Marital Counselor Elder Amos Kevin Annan on the 11th of April 2020.

Elder Amos KevinAnnan is the Deputy Youth Director of The Church of Pentecost.
