Social media has gone haywire with many calling on the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori Atta to resign following the disclosure that over $2 million was paid to Sheik Maktoum, to procure 300, 000 Covid vaccines jabs.
Following this development, scores of Ghanaians have expressed the view that Mr Ken Ofori Atta is complicit in the whole deal and as such should not be left off the hook
Currently among the top trend on Twitter in Ghana is the hashtag #KenOforiAttamustresign.
Voicing out their displeasure, many have called for the special prosecutor to as a matter of urgency investigate the Sputnik V vaccine brouhaha.
Some critics have accused the Finance minister of always being in a rush to flout laws when it comes to the disbursement of money.
For instance, a tweep under the #KenOforiAttamustresign hashtag called for a forensic audit into monies that have been used by government on Covid-19 since Ghana recorded its first case.

Another tweep called Kofi Brown also said “There should be a forensic audit of all payment issued by Ken Ofori Atta with regards to COVID-19.
I’m very sure there are more rots to unveil.” tweep by name by democrat also wrote.
Big Daddy Cee for his part, accused the Finance Minister of being the mastermind behind the alleged corrupt and shady deals undertaking by the government.
“Dis Man Is Behind All The Dubious Corruption Scandals Going On Under Dis Akuffo Addo’s Govt? How Come In Just 4yrs Ken Ofori Atta’s Data Bank Is Now The Richest Bank In Ghana” he wrote.
