President Akufo-Addo has informed residents in the Volta Region that ten contracts have been awarded to contractors for the construction of the Eastern Corridor road from Tema to the North.

The Peki-Have road, which forms part of government’s project, he said, has been awarded to First Sky Limited, a construction company that has proven its worth.

According to the President, works on the stretch would commence soon.

“Ten contracts have been given for the Eastern Corridor road and one of them which is the Peki -Have road, to a very good contractor who is doing very well, First Sky Limited and very soon you will see the action,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo made the announcement when he visited the people of North Dayi during his tour of the region on Friday, September 10.

At a durbar, he gave the assurance that upon his return to the capital city, Accra, issues regarding the expansion and extension of water supply to all parts of the district, construction of facilities in the Senior High Schools among others will be dealt with.

These projects, he noted would also address some grievances presented by the Paramount Chief, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV to better the living conditions of citizens in the region.

According to the President, he is hopeful the New Patriotic Party will secure the North Dayi constituency in the 2024 general elections to add to the Hohoe seat.

During his tour, President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by some sector ministers including the Minister for Railways Development and MP for Hohoe Constituency, John-Peter Amewu.
