Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has called on the Members of Parliament to redeem their image by comporting themselves in the August House.
The first sitting of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic began today after a chaotic inauguration on Thrusday, January 7, 2021.
Peacefmonline.com reports indicated that most of the NPP Members of Parliament arrived at Parliament as early as 3am to occupy the right side of the Speaker, which is the Majority side.
This action follows the take over of their seats by the NDC on the eve of January 7 which preceded the inauguration of the 8th Parliament.
Already, efforts to reach a consensus on who becomes Majority have failed even after the Fomena Independent MP has informed the Speaker that he will join the NPP side.
The inauguration day was characterized by bizarre incidents in the Legislative House as the NDC violently clashed with the NPP over the election of Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin.
Reacting to the issues, Hon. Enam Hadzide condemned the MPs over their misconduct but admonished them to wipe out the negative impression in the minds of Ghanaians.
To him, the MPs should use the opportunity they have in Parliament to send a good signal to the people of Ghana.
He told host Nana Yaw Kesseh that the MPs must purge themselves of ”the negative impression that the people of Ghana carried of us during the inaugural sitting”.
