DirectAide Ghana, a moslem non- profit, charity organization based in  the Islamic State of Kuwait has presented Ramadan food bags known as “iftar” to one thousand 1,000 moslems and non- moslems alike to support them go through this years Ramadan successfully.

The presentation is part of the organizations annual Ramadan charity towards supporting moslems who are vulnerable to be sufficient in preparation during Ramadan but not to resort to begging on the principal streets of Tamale which is dangerous to their own life and security.

This year’s event saw the northern regional minister as the special guest of honor.

The northern regional director of the DirectAide Ghana, Mr. Mahmoud Idriss Ismail in his welcome address, thanked the good people of the region for their cordiality all this years dating back from 1998 when they started operating in the region.

Mr. Mahmoud added that, their organization receive  donor support from the Jam’iyatul al aun al Mubaashir group and the government of Kuwait.

And that, this years package which will support  1,000 people is estimated at    Ghc582,000 for the year 2021 alone.

The northern sector director of the organization added that, this particular support comes off every Ramadan since 1998 and that, it has always been joyous moments for both beneficiaries and the government and people of Kuwait.

In his welcome address, the northern regional minister Hon.Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu on behalf his excellency President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and Vice president Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia Congratulated DirectAid Ghana and the government of Kuwait for this benevolent donation and urged them to continue to touch many lives including the less privelleged and the vulnerable, especially orphans and widows.

Mr. Mahmoud  stated that, they work hand-in- hand with the Social welfare department, widows society, Disable Union, the chief of Vittin and the staff of the DirectAide Ghana in Tamale who help in the selection of beneficiaries by giving them coupons which indicates their choice for the donation.

The regional Minister took the opportunity to brief all participants that, on Thursday 15th, April 2021 he  toured the  Abubakar Sadiq center and promised through the regional education directorate, to support the school with adequate furniture where students find teaching and learning cumbersome because of lack of furniture.

He also added that, his office is ready to partner or support the organization in the areas of development but, urged the authority of the school to consider adding vocational and skill training to their curriculum to support the youth to be technocrats and fend for themselves in the nearest future.

Hon.Shani underscored the need for peaceful co-existence amongst moslems and non moslems alike in the northern region and added that, he invited some prominent Islamic clerics in the region who preach the word of Allah during this holy month of Ramadan  to his office at the regional coordinating council to eschew all forms of attacks or personal vilification on each other which could paint Islam black  in the eyes of  non moslems across Ghana.

A citation was presented to the Northern regional minister and the chief director of the regional coordinating council for their visit and cooperation.

DiarectAide Ghana operates across the whole of Africa and has five branches in Ghana with two branches in  Accra and one each in Kumasi, Cape Coast and Tamale.

Each beneficiary took home a bag full of items like: two mini- bags of rice, sugar ,tea, cooking oil, non- diary milk powder, tin tomatoes among others.

The beneficiaries both moslems and non- moslems were full of praise to the DirectAideGhana foundation for the kind gesture and prayed to Allah to guide and guard them in all their philanthropic ventures.
