The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr John Boadu has admonished the Ghana Police Service to as a matter of urgency arrest every NPP executive in the Suhum constituency who will be found culpable in the probe of the Suhum funeral clash.
Speaking on Neat FM on Tuesday, August 31, which was monitored by MyNewsGhana.net, Mr Boadu called on the police to investigate the incident and bring any perpetrators of that incident to book.
According to him, it should not be the case that because the NPP is in power, the police will become unable to prosecute known NPP members who engage in wrongful acts.
“I was in Suhum on that day where we even had a forum and we were in a happy mood only for them to attend a funeral and fight”.
He said that the NPP as a party does not support such acts of thuggery and as such condemns it.
He said that the NPP will also conduct it internal investigation into the issue and come out with sanctions for anyone who is found culpable.
He urged the Police to be steadfast in their investigation and issue punitive measures.
