A pump attendant at Kingsperb fuel station at Bonsawire near Tarkwa in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region who conspired with others to rob his employers has been arrested.
Godfred Amoah alias Anas according to the police who confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com, is a night fuel pump attendant while Dominic Kwarteng is a security man at the fuel station but were said to have conspired with Benjamin Kwofie alias ben and one Pilato to embark on the robbery operation.
According to the police, they had received a distress call from the station that two young men wielding knives attacked the filling station and robbed him of an amount of GHC106,000.00
Godfred Amoah alias Anas and Dominic Kwarteng were subsequently arrested upon suspicion and during interrogation Anas admitted and indicated that he conspired with the night security and engaged suspect Benjamin Kwofie and one Pilato to rob the filling station
Police indicate that they used Anas to lure the engaged suspects to the main Tarkwa lorry station where suspect Benjamin Kwofie was arrested but suspect Pilato managed to escape
A school bag was retrieved from suspect Benjamin Kwofie and when searched, an amount of GHC 101,662.00 believed to be part of the booty stolen from the station was retrieved.
