The Bono Regional Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress, Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo has disclosed that finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta in parliament today has changed a program initiated by former President, John Dramani Mahama in 2014.

According to Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, former President John Dramani Mahama established Youth Enterprise Support (YES) in 2014 with a seed capital of 10million Ghana Cedis to provide training and finances to youth entrepreneurs to build and succeed in their various fields, but the title of the program has been changed by finance minister.

He stated that Hon. Adu Asare was the first CEO who was later replaced with Helga Aryee Boadi as the CEO where lots of Youth were supported to go into Entrepreneurship with evidence once lined up in Parliament by former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, Dr. John Kumah the current deputy finance minister and MP for Ejisu got his first job under NPP government as CEO of Youth Enterprise Support and later changed the name YES to NEIP which has been changed today again YOUTH START.

He stated that “as a former President of Finance and Entrepreneurship Students Association Of Ghana, a proposal was submitted to YES in 2016 to support students with background in Finance and Entrepreneurship but was thrown to the dogs when NDC lost power in 2016.

Today the Finance Minister has again changed the name to YOUTH START as if it is a new idea they have conceived”.

He stated that all NPP is noted for is changing names of what already exist so that they can later claim ownership of it. Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo’s message sought to explained Ken Offori Atta and NPP deliberately changed the name of the program from YES to YOUTH START to avoid backlash from Ghanaians and it will also help to gain much attention from Ghanaians.
