The Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo constituency Nii Lante Vanderpuye has stated that Ghanaians shouldn’t be surprised the President’s lawyer is leading the charge against the Anti- LGBTQ bill before parliament.
He said persons who advocate and sponsorLGBTQI+ activities target prominent men and women to promote the activities, and because of that, it is not surprising that some lawyers and academicians including, lawyer Akoto Ampaw.
He alleged that President Akufo-Addo’s comments that advocacy on LGBTQI+ activities was not strong in Ghana and should that happen, it would be possible for such activities to thrive.
He said since the President became President some world leaders from Austria, French French and other top leaders who visited him are all gays and advocates in the LGBTQI+ activities.
He indicated that all these persons are international advocates and targetted influential persons in Ghana to let them lead the campaign against LGBTQI+ activities.
He added that the lawyers who are leading the campaign against the LGBTQI+ bill are only doing so because of the financial gains although some of them do not believe in the practice.
He also threw a challenge to the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia to man up and dare speak against this evil practice if indeed he wants to take over from Nana Akuffo Addo as their party’s next flagbearer.
He posited that if Vice President Bawumia is a true Muslim and believes in Islam, then he must condemn the LGBTQI+ activities. The Chief Imam has spoken against it, and I dare the Vice President to speak against it.
The legislator asserted that the activities of LGBTQI+ are a threat to family values, and every well-meaning Ghanaian must stand up against it.
He said no sane human being would dare support this evil practice.
