Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has wished the Ghanaian contingent at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo Japan all the best of luck as the competition begins.

In a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGhana.net on Tuesday August 24, the Vice President expressed his support for the athletes as they compete in their respective fields.

He urged the athletes to replicate the success of Ghana’s Olympic team and endeavour to make Ghana proud.

“As the Paralympic Games commence today in Tokyo, I send my best wishes to Ghana’s Paralympic athletes, as they raise our flag high” he wrote.

The Tokyo Paralympic Games will take place from the 24th of August to 5th September.

Over 4,000 athletes will participate in the in the 12-day global event.

Out of this number, Ghana will be represented by four athletes namely Emmanuel Nii Tettey Oku -Para Powerlifting
Vida Antwi — Para Powerlifting
Yussif Amadu— Athletics
Frederick Assor —Cycling
