The General Secretary for the Legon Chapter Of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Professor Ransford Gyampo has called the bluff of the Accra High Court ruling which called on the UTAG to rescind its decision to embark on a strike.

Also he has chided the National Labour Commission over its move to force lecturers back to classrooms.

Reacting to the Accra High Court ruling that has injuncted the ongoing strike of UTAG, Prof Gyampo in an interview on Neat FM on Monday 9 August, remarked that UTAG remains unmoved by the ruling adding that lecturers will not go back to the classrooms until their demands are met.

He added that the posturing of the Labour Commission and government about the request by UTAG is very bad.

For instance, he said the Labour Commission has sided with the government all in a bid to ensure that the demands of UTAG are completely ignored.

He the NLC have shown clearly that do not have the people with the right competencies to tackle matters of this nature.

He concluded that by reminded the Labour Commission that lecturers are the very people who teach politicians to become prominent members of society hence they also deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
