England suffered yet more penalty heartbreak as Italy triumphed from the spot to lift the European Championship at Wembley.
Bukayo Saka saw the decisive penalty saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma to seal victory for Italy after a 1-1 draw.
Luke Shaw gave England a second-minute lead with his first Three Lions goal – seven years after his first cap.
But after improving in the second half, Italy levelled when Leonardo Bonucci tucked home from close range following a scramble.
The Azzurri then won 3-2 on penalties with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho joining Saka in failing to convert from 12 yards.
