The Ghana Armed Forces has said that it has instituted internal disciplinary measures to punish Soldiers who were seen brutalizing civilians over a missing phone in Wa.
A video went viral on social media of Soldiers brutalizing especially the youth in Wa the capital of Upper West region over a phone which had gone missing.
The Soldiers were seen dishing out slaps to unsuspecting civilians in their quest to retrieve the phone which had gone missing.
But a statement from the Military High Command has condemned the unprofessional conduct of the soldiers indicating that at the time of the incident, the Commanding Officer and the Chairman of the Regional Security Council were out of town.
The Military in its statement said in order to reach an amicable solution and Forster unity between the Military and the people of Wa, the Chief of Army Staff will lead a high powered delegation to meet with the people of Wa.
