The embattled Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejura Sekyere Odumasi, Hon. Sualisu Bamba has denied media reportage of having fled from the area with his nuclear family following threats on his life by rioting youth in the area.
“Why do I have to run at the time my people need me to work?… that’s untrue. I am still at post performing my duties as MCE and as the Chairman of the Municipal Security Committee. Nobody should believe propaganda and lies.”, the MCE during several radio interviews monitored by MyNewsGh.com stated.
It would be recalled that, Kaaka, a social campaigner and known member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) was severely beaten until he became unconscious and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where he died on admission.
The MCE has been accused by the irate youth in the area, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Member of Parliament (MP) , Hon. Alhaji Bawa Braimah Mohammed of masterminding the killing of the deceased.
“Everything is being targeted at me and people around me but I have no hand in anyone’s death”, Hon. Sualisu Bamba therefore challenged anybody having evidence against him in the murder of Kaaka to give such information to the Ghana Police Service for his arrest and prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Police is holding at least three persons believed to having hand in the murder of Kaaka who left a wife and five children.
