Former Chairman for the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Fomena Constituency Akwasi Nti Asamoah has questioned why the party has accepted a nominee from the Independent Member of Parliament(MP) for the position of District Chief Executive(DCE)
According to him, the lawmaker although was a member of the NPP, he left the party for reasons best known to him.
Therefore he is seen as an outsider but has since been given the privilege of nominating someone to be vetted and considered for the DCE position which should not be condoned
He said he has been quiet about a number of issues and will be watching the party from afar because he has decided to stay away from politics.
“I’ve seen that vetting is going on. The party executives have nominated on person and the other person is also a party member so any of them who gets the nod I’m ok. But I’ve seen that the Independent MP has also nominated someone who has gone for an interview. This is not supposed to be done because he is not a member of the party and therefore this should not be allowed.
