Stat attack: All you need to know about West Brom 3-0 Southampton

West Brom kept their slim Premier League survival hopes alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Southampton at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies picked up back-to-back wins for the first time this season but remain eight points from safety with just seven games left to play.

Mathues Pereira and Matt Phillips put Sam Allardyce’s men 2-0 up at the break before Callum Robinson added a third midway through the second half.

Despite a lacklustre performance, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s sorry Saints remain 10 points clear of Fulham in the final relegation spot, and 12 clear of West Brom

Southampton have picked up just 10 points in 15 Premier League games in 2021, fewer than any other side in this period.

No manager has beaten them with more different teams in the Premier League than West Brom’s Sam Allardcye.

West Brom have scored more than three  goals in consecutive top-flight games for the first time since February 2012.

The Baggies registered 13 shots in the first half against Southampton, last attempting more in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game in February 2012 vs Wolves.

Sam Johnstone became the first West Brom goalkeeper to save a penalty in the Premier League since Boaz Myhill vs Man Utd in May 2015.
