Man City opened up a 10-point gap over the Premier League champions with a game still in hand after their 4-1 win at Anfield – but Henderson insists there are positives to take

Jordan Henderson defiantly insisted Liverpool could still take positives despite Manchester City blowing a hole in their title defence.

City’s 4-1 win at Anfield on Sunday sent them five points clear at the top of the Premier League – but it opened up a 10-point gap over the reigning champions.

The rivals had been locked at 1-1 after a Mohamed Salah penalty had cancelled out Ilkay Gundogan’s opener.

But a Phil Foden-inspired City capitalised on a disastrous spell for Reds keeper Alisson, whose uncharacteristic errors led to Gundogan’s second strike and a headed goal for Raheem Sterling.

Foden then added the gloss with a superb strike past Alisson late on.
