
President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden has warned that “people may die”, if Donald Trump continues to impede his coming into office.
Speaking in Delaware, the president-elect said, the only way the fight against the coronavirus outbreak could only be won with proper co-ordination.
Joe Biden described Trumps refusal to start preparations towards his leaving the Whitehouse as“totally irresponsible”.
Michelle Obama, on social media, said;
“This is not a game,”
President-elect Biden had 306 votes in the electoral college, surpassing the 270 thresholds needed to win, yet the incumbent President tweeted on Monday morning saying;
“I won the Election!”
The Trump campaign launched a flurry of legal challenges in the wake of the 3 November vote to contest ballot counts.
The government agency tasked with beginning the transition process for a new president, The General Services Administration (GSA), is yet to recognize Mr. Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris as winners, leaving them without access to sensitive government briefings that are normally provided to an incoming administration.
Aides to the Democratic president-elect have said that Mr. Trump’s refusal to engage in a transition also means Mr. Biden’s team has been excluded from planning around a vaccination distribution strategy.
In his speech on Monday, Mr. Biden said of the stalled transition:
“Does anyone understand this? It’s about saving lives, for real, this is not hyperbole.”
“More people may die if we don’t coordinate,” he added.
Mr. Joe Biden said the country would be behind time if they would have to wait till 20th January 2021 before they start the distribution of the vaccine. A worried Joe Biden asked State leaders to encourage their people to stay indoors if they have nothing to do outside and also he encouraged everybody living in the United States to be in a nose mask so that the rate of infection could be minimized.
