The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has declared October 1 as the starting day for their strike as they call for the government to also review their grievances and come to their aid.
General Secretary of the Mortuary workers Richard Kofi Jordan in a signed statement which was released stated that the working conditions under which they worked were not favourable and called for a proper safety protocol t be put in place for them.
He further stated that they are exposed to chemicals like the cancer-causing chemical, formaldehyde amongst others which is very dangerous for their health.
According to Richard, they have had a countless encounter with the ministry of health concerning their problems but a deaf ear has been turned to their plea.
