The language monitoring program of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) after its August surveys have adjudged Ashanti Regional Chariman of the NEw Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako AKA Chairman Wontumi as the most abusive person in Ghana.

The survey also sited other abusive people like Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central and Mugabe Maase, host of Power FM’s Inside Politics.

The New Patriotic Patriotic Party (NPP) was adjudged the most abusive political party in the country with Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio earning top spot as the platform with the highest incidents of indecent expressions and insults.

The survey which covers the period from 1st to 31st August saw 1,019 radio programmes being monitored on 15 selected radio stations across the country.

A total of 99 indecent expressions were recorded by 34 individuals most of whom are politicians and social commentators.

The inappropriate and indecent expressions cover Insulting and Offensive comments; Unsubstantiated allegations; Threats; Provocative remarks; Expressions or Comments promoting divisiveness.

The number of indecent expressions recorded among political parties are as follows:

The NPP – 50

NDC – 9

PPP – 3

GCPP – 2

The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP)  – 1

Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) recorded – 1

The number of indecent expressions on major radio stations in the country are as follows:

Wontumi Radio (Kumasi) – 34

Oman FM (Accra) – 28

Ash FM (Kumasi) – 28

Power FM (Accra) – 14
