This project aims to rekindle a sense of community engagement through interactions, Sports, organizing, and assisting in massive cleanup activities for youths in the Kasoa Downtown community in the Central Region of Ghana on the need to keep clean communities.
Kasoa has been a suburb with little environmental education. It has been common to see people in our communities litter and dump waste indiscriminately without fear or shame. This has led to the choking of drains and flooding that has destroyed several properties in recent times. The awakening of the youth in the Kasoa Downtown area will enlighten the youth at the entire community on proper management of waste through conservation education, training, and clean-up exercises which have started a few weeks ago.
The youth has been gathering on Saturdays for the past few weeks to push young men and women in the area to invest in their futures by cleaning up their community and help to fix choked gutters and making temporal new ones where necessary.
They hope to transform the area into a vibrant business community to attract more shoppers, vehicular movements, and small business owners.
They said the first step is to make it cleaner and safer.
A group of young changemakers took off exploring their neighborhood waterways to clean up trash and debris blocking waterways.
