
Nigeria’s d’Tigress have been drawn in Group B for the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup. The draw took place in Sydney, Australia, where the tournament will be staged. The draw was performed by FIBA Hall of Famer, Michelle Timms.
Alongside 11 other countries, Nigeria qualified for the World Cup by beating France and Mali in the qualifiers. The 12 teams were drawn into 2 pots based on FIBA’s women’s world rankings.
Nigeria – 14th in the world, were in pot 2 with Japan, Korea, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and a team yet to be decided (TBD) after FIBA banned Russia due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Nigeria will face France, Serbia, Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Australia and Canada in the group stages.
Nigeria will be making their 3rd appearance in the tournament.
