The Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mahmud Kabore has advised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to divorce their wives if they are tired of taking care of them due to the current economic hardship.
There has been an agitation among a section of Ghanaians after Parliament approved allowances for Presidential spouses.
The Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency NDC Communication Officer while speaking on Kumasi-based Otec FM Dwabrem Show monitored by MyNewsGh.com described the decision to pay Presidential spouses as baseless and a misplaced priority.
“Ghanaians are suffering under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia due to how they have mismanaged the economy. People are struggling to get one meal a day” Mahmud Kabore said.
“If President Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia think they can’t take care of their wives due to the current economic hardship, they should divorce their wives and stop putting the burden on Ghanaians”
Mahmud Kabore added “The money that will be used to pay Presidential spouses can be used to build more factories to create more employment which will help reduce the unemployment rate in the country”
